About this Costume
Construction Details:
All parts of the outfit that required sewing was done by me. This included the obi area, the kimono, the top, arm sleeves, and leg sleeves. The kimono is more of a butt cape with the area around the waist being part of a wrap around type thing like how the obi is. The obi bow in the back is tied in a double bow out of artistic liberty. The obi fabrics were from M&L Fabrics and are technically inaccurate but, once again, artistic liberties took over. The designs on the kimono were drawn out by my cousin Haku and were then painted over by Hedemi. Lots of hand sewing went into the gloves and tops of the legs. The (derpy) fan prop and hair accessories were made by me.
Personal Thoughts:
Been wanting to cosplay this for a VERY LONG TIME but in 2006 I was barely starting to cosplay... I think I can do this now! Historical series set during the Bakumatsu, yeee~ And having a group to go ape crazy over it with Yusuke Kozaki coming to Japan Expo as a guest is like... /mindblowngif

Wig Brand
Epic Cosplay
Wig Name
Nyx
Styling Notes
I had a purple black fusion curly 38" Hera wig hat was straightened and was then cannibalized into wefts which were sewn into a purple black fusion 28" Nyx wig for more thickness. The wig was sectioned off to make all her hair bumps. Gratuitous amounts of Got2B freezing spray, Got2B spiking gel, and wishful thinking brought the wig together. There are foams in the bumps for additional support/volume. The wig was cut into a hime cut afterward. All the hair accessories were put and stayed in the wig out of sheer luck.
