About this Costume
Construction Details:
For the top of the dress, I combined a t-shirt pattern with the collar from a dress shirt pattern. I then added the pleating to the front before cutting the pattern out. The skirt had 5 pin tucks sewn near the bottom hem before being attached. The waist band was sandwiched between the top and skirt layers and sewn down before being "flattened". The bow was added on separately. The dress has a zipper and clasps on the back and collar.

The white collar was a separate piece that buttons on after the dress and tucks into the dress collar. The black beret was a knitted one I had bought due to time constraints. I had five roses for this outfit. To make a smaller one, I ripped 2 layers of petals off of one for the hat and added it to another for the one that goes on the jacket. One yard of white ribbon made the bow fan for the larger hat rose.

The black jacket was also based off a t-shirt pattern. Dupioni silk lined with a rose jacquard silk. I added pockets to the lining to help hold my phone and wallet at the very least. My boyfriend helped my sew on the 18 buttons. ^^;

Stockings were from TaoBao. Boots were bought in brown and painted with many layers of white fabric paint. The black lines were also painted on and had a thin white layer of paint over it to lighten it.
Personal Thoughts:
She is such an adorbable character~~~

I will remake this dress with a better fabric at some point. I didn't realize that poly poplin would poof so much with the pin tucks and pleats...
