Cosplayer Gale > Costume of Mami Tomoe from Madoka Magica
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- I did a bunch of new things with this costume that before I'd had little to no experience with: custom resin molds, homemade bias tape, extensive wig styling, and making a corset all to name a few. All in all there's a few things I wish had come out better, but I am very proud of what I came up with.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I started this costume in 2011 because I wanted to be ahead of the trend for once...so much for that! Finally got around to actually making the rest and I am so happy with it. Mami is such a lovely character and was my favorite from the start. And no surprise, she follows that trend I have of cosplaying a certain atchtype of characters =/
- Styling Notes
- I adapted Sparkle Pipsi's drill curl tutorial to a Chibi as opposed to a Leia. That is, I reused some of the hair cut off in the stub to make up the length I wanted. I also used a whole tube of adhesive caulk. Those curls aren't going anywhere!
- Wig Review
- Not my best work, but then I'm still very much a wig novice.
