Cosplayer Lauren Hibs > Costume of Titus Alexius from Magi Labyrinth of Magic
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- Titus's shirt was originally a while collared men's shirt that I altered, adding the wristbands and gathering the sleeves at the bottom. His shorts are made from the same stretch blend that I made Sphintus's dress out of (for the same reasons), and used the same off-white bias tape for the gathering at the bottom of the shorts. His chaps were actually really fun to make because I'd never made anything like that before so it was really one big "I HOPE THIS WORKS" using tan cotton fabric and a shorts pattern altered to hell and back. His hat was a last minute thing so I used an old black bed sheet, and also had to free-pattern it and it took a few tries to get it just right. The brim's got stablizer in it, as well as an un-folder wire hanger so it could be shaped. The base of the hat has a craft-foam form inside it to give the bottom a solid shape, and the tip of it has stuffing in it, also to give shape. The cravat was a scarf that I cut/altered and added the gem from a previous costume on. His wand/sword/rapier was super last minute, and I needed it for another costume so I had to really "ghetto" made the gem out of Model Magic, and leave some detailing off it.
- Personal Thoughts:
- After seeing Titus, I knew I wanted to eventually cosplay him, though, he was also one of the one's that was sitting on the "I want to but probably won't" list, until two of my dear friends both started to plan their Lady Scheherazade cosplays. Being able to see his development as a character as the manga updates is really amazing and his story breaks my heart while warming it at the same time.
- Styling Notes
- Originally their Panty wig, which came as just a simple long, curly blond wig. Later cut and straightened to be a CL wig, and now it's been cut and styled for Titus. The bottom layer, above the braids, is thinner than I would like, though, it was my own mistake, and it's not terrible.
