Cosplayer Shikarius > Costume of Noiz from DRAMAtical Murder
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- My goal was to match all of my greens and I think I finally got it (even though the greens themselves are a bit too fluorescent, I'm okay with it). All of the green fabric started as strips of white cotton painted with a mix of Jacquard Fluorescent Green, Colorless extender, and white acrylic paint because I got frustrated whoops. Next time, I'll get some Jacquard white instead.
I didn't use patterns which is why a few bits are a little derpy, but the skirt is a fairly straightforward box pleated skirt though I only ironed the tops of the pleats since I wanted the bottom to stay poofy and wavy. The belt was stenciled using freezer paper. Cutting out the little face bits was a nightmare but I loooove the bunny belt! I drew out all of the pins as well as I could and enlisted the help of a friend with a button maker XD The cuffs were layered fleece with the navy top stitched down, and the studs were metallic green trim that I painted and E6000'd down in 3 lines. I bought actual studs, but I couldn't get the paint on evenly (I'll need to play with spraypaint next time). The hat was a pain because I had to make a stretchy hat shape in non-stretchy fabric with as few seams as possible (because of the stenciled design). It turned out super comfy so I'm happy
- Personal Thoughts:
- More 2-day costumes! ...I gotta stop doing this... But I love love love this thing. I don't know, I just feel super cute in it (which is a little ironic, but hey). It was kind of meant to be a test run for regular Noiz, but I love the hell out of this!
It was a last minute decision, but I currently lack a solid "Sunday" costume for upcoming events and figured this would be perfect. Plus I love DRAMAtical Murder, even if the character designs are all over the place... and I thought Koujaku's bad ending broke my laptop for half a second. Welp.
