- Construction Details:
This cosplay was made from pink dupioni silk bought several years ago overseas, white poly-cotton lace (underskirt overlay) and white cotton.
The bodice was an altered and resized pattern, fully lined, interfaced (both with traditional interfacing and twill) and boned, modesty panel added to the back and professionally gromitted. Top and bottom are finished with a pink bias tape and the back laces up with a matching ribbon.
The front panel of the bodice was hand embroidered over many hours, several on the NYC subway. The design was taken from one of the artbook images, redrawn and sewn by me, with embellishments such as a hidden Mickey :)
The underskirt is two white cotton circle skirts with a lace panel in the front and a modified skirt for the train. The outer skirt was made in miniature several times before cut. All seams where finished between rolled hems, bias tape and french seams.
The flower is from the NYC flower district and the the wig is a mostly straightened Arda Wig's Luthien.
- Personal Thoughts:
- One of my most time consuming projects. It was really nice to be able to use my embroidery skills for once!
