Construction Details:

This was another cosplay with a hundred little parts haha. I wanted to make sure I gave my attention to everything and had to stay patient. The waist cincher is spiral steel boned with 2 layers of corsetry coutil with the spandex on top so I could still have the full matching fabric effect. All of the flounces and bows are attached to the bottom of the cincher. I made the arm plates and shoes out of wonderflex.
My friend constructed the keyblade mostly out of brass and fiberglass with a leather handle. It's painted in car paint so it really glistens in the sun!

Personal Thoughts:

An actual dream come true :D I loved every part of playing Birth By Sleep several years ago, and began planning Aqua right away... but I had never made armor type elements of costumes before, so I hesitated and just thought about it for a few years. I didn't want to try making Aqua until I had figured out how I could successfully make her shoes. Finally this year, after a few failed attempts with other materials, I experimented with wonderflex and decided to work with that! My amazing friend constructed my keyblade Rainfell for me, and it is bliss to finally get to wear the whole thing all together!! Aqua is such an awesome babe x3
