- Construction Details:
I love cotton satteeeennnnnn~ Everything was made with it because I love it so~ The shirt was a weird box type shirt with the front being longer and at a point. There aren't any sleeves but since she had those clear shoulder... things... I just sewed them into where the sleeves would've gone. The shirt has a panel of lace that goes down the middle of the front - it's two strips of lace that I sewed together to make it [a]wider and [b]closer to what I figured the design looked like. Skirt is a regular pleated skirt [should've ironed it before I put it on but I forgot and I was in a hurry]. The collar is made of the same material as the skirt and I sewed in some bias tape for the white strip that goes all around it. The bow is made of black cotton sateen and it's just... a bow. *shrug* The Mars symbol on the necklace and the bow are both made with ModelAIR clay and painted silver - the necklace also had the fake pearls painted red. I already owned the bracelet I used for the costume. The tiara was made of craft foam with jewelry stretch string to keep it on under my wig. The "glasses" were made via poster board as the frame and a page protector cut into shape for the "lens". It stayed on by me just taping it onto the tiara.
I love Mars and I want to cosplay her as much as possible but god DAMN am I happy this isn't the outfit that Naoko decided not to go with it. It doesn't flatter anyone's body shape because of the boxy shirt xD
- Personal Thoughts:
