Construction Details:

Wig: Lucaille pre-parted wig, trimmed and styled; hair baubles are clear plastic ornaments painted red and the ribbons conveniently come out from the original opening

Eyes: Super Pinky Bright Red contact lens

Blazer: Denim~♫ with pleather trim and Rigilene

Crop top: Or is it a sports bra? Worked with cotton/spandex for the first time

Breastplate: Craft foam, sealed with PlastiDip and painted, attaches by industrial strength Velcro

Gloves: Rib knit; pleather wristbands attach by snaps

Belt: Pleather on fabric backing, opens by snaps

Pouch: Twill with pleather trim, has loop on back for belt

Dagger: Wood base with craft foam decorations, leather bandage grip

Sheath: Leather with craft foam bottom

Skirt: Standard box-pleat skirt with hand-cut PVC trim

Socks: Cospatio base socks, first time using sock glue to keep them up

Garter: Pleather on twill backing, small 1" bit of elastic

Boots: Purchased base leather shoes, glued PVC trim on

Personal Thoughts:

This costume was a fun challenge and I got to use a bunch of new textiles for the first time. However, people seem to remember Silica's pet dragon, Pina, more than the tamer herself when she is mentioned in conversation.

Styling Notes

The wig came with pigtails that were too high. I took them out and redid them. Bangs were trimmed. I thinned out the pigtails with thinning shears and fluffed them up by back-combing and using hairspray.
