Cosplayer Fire-Raising > Wig of Seishirou Kirishiki from Shiki
About this Wig
- Personal Thoughts:
- Damn. Gravity-defying. Anime. Hair.
This was my second attempt at this hairstyle. The first was really crappy and a quick do (well, not that quick) just to get me by "for the time being." But foam board does not stand up against any sort of breeze... or hitting door frames so I reconstructed a more durable, realistic version.
The gravity-defying hair piece is actually baby blue fleece cut and sewn in the shape of the hair. Then it was stuffed and wire/pipe cleaner inserts were added for extra stability in the weaker areas. The entire thing is covered in almost an entire wig's worth of wefts and sewn to the wig at the front.
Base is a 14" wig and the hairpiece is comprised of wefts from deconstructing a 28" wig of the same colour. The hairpiece measures about 21 inches wide. A wig with a wingspan, haha.
It still needs a bit of clean up but it's pretty much done.
- Styling Notes
- For the actual wig, just a lot of shaking and hairspraying and brushing back to get the right look.
- Wig Review
- Base wig was really thin on top making it harder to style exactly the way I wanted it. Luckily I have the hair piece to sort of cover over things.
