Construction Details:

Overall, there is probably close to 40 yards of fabric in this costume total. It might not LOOK like that much, but it's mostly due to the fact that the bottom train (the pink one) is three layers. For the galaxy lining, I wanted something that mirrored the look of the figure so I got a little creative and used 2 fabrics layered to create the shinny, space like effect. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out and it ended up being surprisingly light despite all the layers! :D All the scallops are done by using stabilizer, then drawing on the scallops to the fabric, followed by a tight satin stitch, then trimming, then another satin stitch on one wider size to close the edge. Overall, a very tedious process but it gave the costume a nice effect. The white and pink layers are made of crepe and all the ruffles are hand gathered. The white layers of the skirt and the bolero top are finished with French seams

As you can see.... no wings. They weren't able to make it to Youmacon, so hopefully they will make their debut when I bring this to Katsucon along with the bow. :D
