Construction Details:

Fukawa's uniform appears to be a basic sailor uniform, but it's more difficult.

Her blouse is longer than usual and fitted to the curve of her waist/hips, so I had to take it in at the sides to emulate that.
Her skirt is also just a simple pleated skirt, but much longer. I made reach between my knee and my calf. It's long, but not ankle length.

Also there is bias tape everywhere. Just. Bias tape.

The material I used is stretch cotton sateen which is my favorite for sailor uniforms since it doesn't wrinkle as much as other cottons. The stretch was nice for the top, since Fukawa's top is fitted to her waist but not her chest. It was a total bitch to do pleats in, though.

This video is very useful on the basics of how to make a sailor uniform. this costume wasn't frustrating to make, just very time consuming because of all the sewing bias tape and hemming and the time it took to iron the skirt.
