Construction Details:

The blouse was made using Butterick pattern 5948. I used a sailor collar and bow pattern I have for the collar and big white bow. The skirt and overskirt were made using Simplicity pattern 3847. The hat was made by taking apart Dollar store hats and using them for a pattern and taking the wire out of them for the brim. A bent coat hanger provides the support for the top of my hat.

You can't see it in the current photo but I made little green stars using felt and sewed them to my tights. That detail was annoying to do because I tried painting the stars first. XD

This photo was taken before I finished the costume totally. Before I wore this costume to Youmacon I adjusted the hat so it hangs down a little more, and I fixed up the bow. My proper gloves and my wand are also missing from this photo. Plus I wasn't able to get my red contacts in before wearing this costume to the Silver Snail Halloween party. They'll be visible in later photos.

Personal Thoughts:

The moment I found this figure at Youmacon 2011 in the dealer's room I wanted to make the costume. It took a long time to come together and I drowned in ruffles, but it was worth it! I love Halloween designs. I need to find more Halloween outfits to make. :D

Styling Notes

My friend Pan trimmed my bangs and a little bit of hair around the side and the back. I really like the colour for Rei's hair in the Anime.
