Cosplayer Hotjam > Costume of Sebastian Michaelis from Black Butler
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- The vest was not altered in any way from the Simplicity pattern I used and it is indeed a women's vest. I used button covers for the button which were a pain in the ass. Tiny buttons and covering them late at night was a challenge. I did the button holes by hand for the first time ever. That was loads of fun to learn and teach myself. I used suiting in grey and black. The lining is black as well.
The Jacket is 5 patterns to make 1 jacket. I invented the tails from looking at a pattern to see how they did it even though it was not the same thing as what I wanted. The main base is a vest altered. It was a chore to do the sleeves since vests are not suppossed to have them. The buttons were unique touches I found at Jo Ann's. I used a harringbone pattern suiting fabric. I know it is a little not tailored but it is my first attempt and I am proud. I will most likely redo this in the future.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Not one of my favorite cosplays ever since it has so many layers and so much black but I am making the choir boy outfit Grell wears for Sebastian which will make me look silly but it is such a fun outfit to wear and make. I love cosplaying with my boyfriend Travis who cosplays Grell in many versions so far.
- Styling Notes
- I used gel and hair spray to restyle the wig from when it came in.
- Wig Review
- I actually love this wig alot. I love the style and color.
