Construction Details:

Costume is made out of 4-way stretch matte metallic spandex with each piece flatted to regular black spandex for thickness, and to make the spandex have more of a pleather-y appearance. I created the pattern by drawing the seamlines from my design onto a KwikSew bodysuit pattern, then tracing each piece out individually and adding seam allowance. For the fur collar, I used part of the IKEA faux lambskin that I bought for Korra.

Personal Thoughts:

I really wanted to do a Marvel character to pay homage since up to this point, I've only done DC super heroines. I originally planned to do Rogue because the boyfriend agreed to do Gambit, but when he changed his mind, I lost my incentive to make Rogue. So as I was browsing Marvel.com profiles, I came across Felicia Hardy's stats... AND SHE'S 5'10. Everyone who knows me knows what a weirdo I am for ~HEIGHT ACCURACY~ so I decided right then that Black Cat would be my first Marvel costume! However, since Black Cat is INCREDIBLY overdone, I decided to at the very least do a design for her that was original, so I could say it's never been done! :)
