Construction Details:

All of the fabrics are duchess satin, and I even made the petticoat myself. I used a mixture of McCalls and Butterick patterns, splicing them together, and hand rouching the underskirt (so time consuming!). All of the gold stripes are done using a satin stitch and embroidery thread. I hand pleated the fabric around the cuffs and hand ruffled the fabric along the neckline as well. Shoes were originally white, with shoe covers made out of leftover duchess satin from the main over gown. Gems are all Swarovski, with settings made by me.

Styling Notes

I stubbed the ponytail on the wig, and used half a styrafoam ball to make the braided bun piece. I covered it in felt and took apart the clip on ponytail, sectioning the wefts to braid and wrapping them and sewing them down on top of the half ball. I added some extra wefts to the base wig as well, since the sides are a little thin and Beato has a piece that goes straight back. The bun is attached to the wig, and sewn down so it doesn't slip off while I wear it.
