Cosplayer Pirogoeth > Costume of Dawn from Dawn
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- I'm working on another Dawn for which I'm making a, hopefully, really nice corset. I'm going to use that corset for this look as well. It's going to be well boned and use black brocade with little red flowers on it. It's really pretty. Under that I'm wearing my short-sleeved renaissance shirt I got a few years ago at the Ohio Renaissance Festival.
The skirt I picked up at Goodwill. It's mostly velvet with some translucent black sections at the bottom that allow it to expand and flow really nicely. The boots I've had for a while. They just need some insoles and they're ready to go.
Then, of course, there are the chain and rose. They're both from Jo-Ann's and are simple. I just wrap the chain around my wrist and let it pool there. The rose simply gets wrapped around the other wrist.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I love putting Renaissance spins on characters. Some people like to Steampunk things, I like to Renaissance. Dawn is one that really lends herself to it. This time she's a commoner and wears much more simple clothes, and is unarmed. It's more for Ren Faires than anything else.
- Wig Review
- This wig is perfect for Dawn. I only needed to use a little hairspray to encourage the bangs to stay off to the side. Otherwise it just needs a little brushing. I love it.
