About this Costume
Construction Details:
This cosplay was so much fun to make, though I had plenty of help from Starrys with the jumpsuit. (Lovely welt pocket love goes to her.) My favorite thing about these coveralls is all of the working pockets. I am never wont for storage space. Also, my hood is lined with nice, cozy flannel. :3

Making the proto-pack was amazing. I learned so much, and got to work with some materials I've never used before. Plus, finding the perfect vacuum from which to swipe the hose was pretty fun.

The jumpsuit is entirely hand constructed, I ordered the patches as well as the buttons, and I've had the perfect dorky shoes waiting since middle school.

I patterned the proto-pack myself, and constructed it from EVA foam mats. I cut the front panel into two pieces so it can actually be opened and used as a backpack (which was a total lifesaver at AX). Because of the materials I used it also turned out really lightweight so it was much less of a hassle than it could have been.
The tube and clear attachment came directly from a vacuum. I'm so sorry for that poor destroyed vacuum... it sacrificed itself for the noble cause of cosplay. The attachment on the other hand was constructed from miscellaneous pieces found from moseying around the hardware store.
I vectored the images for the stickers on my computer, and printed them out on label paper, then covered them with contact paper to get the shine - and to protect the fragile ink from any water it may have encountered.
I snagged backpack straps from a thrift store pack, and used them instead of making my own. Starrys is responsible for dyeing the webbing for the belt, though, and it turned out perfect.
I painted the face on a coffee can lid (which turned out to be the perfect size) and the most difficult part about it was making it purposefully uneven like all of my reference pictures.
Then I spray painted the whole shebang with this awesome texturizing spray paint so it's actually got a lovely feel to it. I was skeptical that it would be what I wanted it, but I love it so much.
The headphones still work as headphones which make using them purty fun.

I have electronics I plan to add behind the face and inside the headphones to get them to light up properly, so I can't wait to get that finished.

Personal Thoughts:
I love Brief! He's so awkward and uncomfortable...

I guess I have a type that way...

I really sympathize with his character in PSG, so it makes me sad when he's mistreated in the show, however, he can always count on Panty and Stocking to save his patoot if he gets in too much trouble so that's awesomely comforting.
... Plus, I got to meet Joel McDonald at Anime Expo this year because of this costume. He gave me such a nice compliment on my proto-pack, and it totally made my con.

Wig Review
When I wear this wig down in front of my eyes, I can barely see anything. Combined with the headphones, I can barely hear anything, so it's lovely to have a friend nearby.
