Construction Details:

All of my love went into this costume. Escaflowne is a series very dear to my heart, so I tried to make this costume as accurate and perfect as I could. The jacket is made out of wool, lined in sateen. The undershirt is made of stretch poplin and finished with French Seams. The brown on the collar and cuffs, as well as the skirt, is cotton. The shoes were thrifted, and then painted with leather dye to get the patterns on Hitomi's shoes. I made the pendant from a gem found on an earring and sculpy. The cards were a lucky find that my boyfriend had received when the dvd came out as a promo item. I had such an awesome time as Hitomi since she has been a dream costume of mine for ages, despite it being so "simple".

Personal Thoughts:

Escaflowne is one of my all time favorite series, and making Hitomi has always been a dream of mine. I'm so happy that I was finally able to make this! I had a blast wearing it too!

Styling Notes

Since the wig was too long, I had to trim it up a bit. I put some layreing in it to give it more of a natural look. The antennae were done with hairspray and then propped with pins while they dried to keep their shape.
