Construction Details:

Easy-peasy costume based off of my own custom design! I spent an evening trying to make a shiny silver bodysuit, but ultimately hated my figure in it, so I decided to try something completely different. Dress is combination PVC-coated spandex and white ponte knit, with black piping and buttons, and a yellow PVC waistband worn on the outside. I constructed GLaDOS' head out of craft foam and coated it in Mod Podge, and wore it on very thin jewelry elastic like a mask on my head so I could pull it down over my eye when necessary. Makeup was Ben Nye color cake foundation in white, with yellow contacts and mod fake lashes.

Personal Thoughts:

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY PORTAL FEELINGS. These games have a ridiculous level of sass and pitch-black humor and I have wanted to find some way to represent them at a con for yeaaaars, so when Jay and Cesca got really into Portal, this just kind of happened. I enjoyed designing a gijinka for GLaDOS that I both felt would flatter my figure, AND evoke the Caroline-esque image of a 1960's mad scientist stuck in her old ways.
