About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- not my first time working with knits, but I was still a noob at it at the time. still, this is one of the few things I made in 2011 that I don't completely hate, so it has become a staple of my 2012 cosplay lineups. I patterned the shirt completely myself, a fact I'm still proud of. it drapes and looks the way I feel it should, which is a goddamn miracle. the headband was made from the same dark teal fabric. the shorts and stockings were bought. I didn't [and still really haven't] bothered with getting proper shoes. at first it was because it was a last-minute decision to wear this to a convention, and eventually I just couldn't find a pair of boots that would work [that fit my budget, anyway]. and I was still boot-cover-phobic at the time. since then I haven't bothered to make proper boot covers because I'm not sure how much longer I'll wear this outfit - the boots have a lot of details in the seams and I don't want to put that much effort into them when I don't know if I'll wear them again. recently I've taken to just rolling down the covers I made for my most recent Sheryl, even though it looks kind of odd. tl'dr BOOTCOVERS LOLNO
- Personal Thoughts:
- debut at Con-nichiwa 2011
