Construction Details:

I was fortunate enough to find this kimono for $5 at our local Matsuri. xD The costume went forth from there. I did modify it by lengthening and re-lining the sleeves, adding red bias tape and lace. Wig, tabi socks, and geta were also bought. The obi was the most difficult part. It is made from Casa crepe with interfacing sandwiched inside. I hand painted the cranes and designs all over it. I also handpainted the obidome. Basically, the obi and all it's accessories are attached together and go on in one go for easy dressing!

Styling Notes

This wig came the correct length and wavy. I only styled the bangs to have the "lift" by using blowdryer/hairspray, and touched up the waves by curling it a bit. The ears were made from foam/wonderflex/fur, and attach from the inside of the wig. The katsyusha is on a piece of wire and sewn on to the ears.
