- Though not accurate at all to the game, I approached this rush project similar to how I approached my ODST: What is the most iconic thing about this character? To that end, I made sure the helmet was perfect. I worked with a friend and we hand sculpted and molded the thing over the course of 2 days. I then added little bits, like a purchased knife and stolen bits from my other costumes, in order to make it recognizable as Emile. Painting was done in the wee hours of the morning before con, which is totally not how you're supposed to do it.
It worked. I didn't have a single person complain it was in accurate (in fact, when I pointed this out to Bungie, they said 'you captured the essence of Emile, which is a giant scary mask') and everyone recognized and loved it!
As I do not have the ability to vacform visors, the skull is part of the sculpted helmet and has several cuts carveded deep enough that i can see through it. Just barely.
