About this Costume
Construction Details:
Another Sailor Moon! I originally bought the wig/supplies from Arda for a Princess Serenity cosplay, but I realized I wouldn't be able to afford ALL that fabric in time for Otakon this year, so instead I decided to use my wig and some of my extra fabric to make the early manga version of Sailor Moon instead! Half the fabric and supplies I already had, so why not? :)

The wig is an Arda Chibi in silver-white. I resized the wig cap to fit my head, adjusted the ponytails, and trimmed the bangs. I made the ponytails out of one Arda long clip-on ponytail and added two matching hairbuns.

The odango shields are made from giant plastic buttons that I spray painted gold then added a rhinestone and glimmery white trim.

The choker is Casa satin with a metal moon button. The pendant is two resin-cast glittery-silver gems sandwiched back-to-back with rhinestones for the outer gems.

The collar is a copy of my Eternal Moon collar, only with white stripes instead of yellow ones. The broach is resin cast to match the choker's pendant, with a Fimo moon, painted gold. The chest bow is Casa satin as well.

The boobie "armor" bra looking thing is a layer of sweatshirt fleece with a layer of the cotton spandex from the leotard on top. It zips up the back. The chest V was cut from sintra, sanded, and formed over my chest to have a nice curve. It snaps on/off of the chest piece for easy wash/care/travel.

The leotard was made from the same ice-skating pattern as my Eternal Moon leotard, only I of course put the sleeve-rolls on it instead of the puffy sleeves.

The gloves were purchased from eBay, then the glove rolls were made from metallic spandex lined with sweatshirt fleece, then stuffed for fullness. The glove moons were resin cast copies of the metal moon buttons I bought, since the store didn't have enough buttons for the whole costume. The red stripes are just red ribbon.

The skirt is a double circle skirt that I pleated across the top and let lay naturally across the bottom so it was more ruffly than my Eternal Moon one. The back bow is made from silver casa satin, with a silver organza overlay, so it would be a little fancier and coordinate better with all the gold she has in this version.

The boots were purchased from Electrique Boutique. I cut off the tops in the V shape, refinished the zippers, and added a vinyl V cuff to the top. The moons are more metal moon buttons.

The tiara was purchased from Catzia Collectibles.

Wig Review
I can't give the Chibi a perfect score for the simple fact that they are SO huge that I have to resize the entire wig just to be able to wear it. The combs and elastic adjustments in the back don't do any good with keeping the wig secured (and the combs on the inside of more than one chibi have come out of the wig completely and had to be resewn). I only have a 20.5'' size head.
