About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- The shirt I thrifted and then took the sleeves off and made new ones for it. Then, I dyed the entire shirt. It came out darker than I intended, but I think that the brighter green color looks way better with the gold details than a mint green would've looked. The gold details were initally supposed to be a bright pale yellow, but I thought that looked hideous so I fixed that. The jumper is made out of a green fleece. It's a picnic blanket dress. I drafted a half circle skirt and then took a bodice pattern from a dress pattern I already had and put two and two together. Then I added trims and bias and buttons.
- Personal Thoughts:
- This outfit's design is THE WORST. And this is one of those things you can never actually say in this direction, but it looks WAY better on a human being than it does in the two dimensions. This came out looking really clean, and while I still think certain aspects of the design are dumb (like the rectangle of fringe with lace along the edges of the skirt), I'm pleased.
I also couldn't get my green contacts to want to stay in my eyes for this shoot, so until the spirit moves me to shoop that, you're going to have to take my word and my other 9 costumes worth of evidence that I do put that much more effort into this character.
