About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- Now I remember why the majority of my costumes are skirts and dresses: because tailoring pants is annoying. The buttons are all functional and I hand-sewed all the applique on the sleeves, which thankfully only took as long as one viewing of Being John Malkovich and the MST3K version of Hamlet. This was also my first adventure in hat making, I modified a variety of Garrison cap patterns I found online. The gold symbols on her hat and shoes were individually made from Fimo clay, and the earring is from my previous Sheryl costumes, which I also made from scratch. The medallion is my old varsity swim medal from high school (1st in the 250m breastroke awwww yussss). Big thanks to my Olliesquid for the photos and for putting up with me painting that flag in his basement all afternoon.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Okay okay I promise this is the last of the Sheryl outfits for a while. I had been dying to make this version way back when the artwork for Sayonara no Tsubasa started materializing online, but never really had the time to focus on it. When Ollie brought me back the prize A figure from Japan, I was finally motivated to finish it for the DC Sakura Matsuri street fair.
