About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- I was pretty lucky that basically everything is circles and rectangles. Most of this was made with out a pattern.
I used the mat side of costume satin, except for the Obi- I used the shine on the pink. The beads and other Obi charms are made from Model Magic- since it keeps some of its squish even after its dried I thought it would be better than sculpy or paper clay in terms of breakage. But all the legs broke off the orange charm by then end of the night, lol! I ordered Geta on ebay and sanded them down, painted, and lacquered them after covering the strap. The tabi are from SockDream.com and the wig is the same Ranka wig I used for my other costumes, but I stitched the yellow bow on and Kuroki made my flower. - Personal Thoughts:
- I have wanted to do a "real" Ranka costume for a few years now, and I finally got my Macross group!!! This was pulled together slowly over three weeks. I love it, in fact I don't know if I have ever been so pleased with a costume before.
