Cosplayer BakudanCoco > Costume of Kitamori Reiko from Yu-Gi-Oh! R
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- Skirt was a lucky find at Goodwill - all I really had to do was press the pleats. Vest was made from Simplicity [INSERT NUMBER HERE whoops], with a freehanded collar. It was my first time working with double-fold bias tape around 90-degree angles and close up you can totally tell. (It's still the best thing I'd ever made at that point.) That blouse is pretty terrible, though, so I'm glad you can't see much of it.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I liked Reiko ever since I read R - probably because we have a lot in common. Despite not having any color references for her (she's a pretty minor character, after all), picking the colors was actually pretty easy. Also, I really love ankle boots and this let me get some cute ones.
(The biggest problem, though, is that I'm pretty sure since nobody has even heard of R everyone sees the duel disk with an unknown and thinks I'm a Mary-Sue or something! Hee hee.)
- Styling Notes
- Trimmed into that weird YuGiOh Female Character Acute Triangle Hair (TM) and the bangs pinned to the side with bobby pins. Pretty basic stuff, really!
