About this Costume
Construction Details:

I based this costume off 2 artbook images and combined them. The dress is largely based off one, while the addition of the lilies and usage of pearls is based off another. I made an underskirt and pantaloons for underneath the dress, and a corset for holding the wings in place. Because Kotori is depicted often wearing a white dress, I tried to be creative and make little details that made the costume more interesting and unique. The dress itself is a made of satin with a chiffon overlay and I'm rather happy with the results. I used French seams for the majority of this costume, and all other seams are enclosed or covered as a result of lining it. There are buttons in the back for the closure.

This was my first time making wings, and I'm very pleased with the result. I used copper wire, chicken net, batting, and of course, feathers, which were all shaped by following Jia's wing tutorial.

The wig was bought off of cosplywig on ebay and I simply adore the curls. It's perfect for her and I only needed to cut the bangs.
Personal Thoughts:
Kotori is such a wonderful character, but her story is just so sad. She's up there with my favorite characters of all time, and easily one of my favorite CLAMP characters. I'm also really lucky that I have awesome friends so we were all able to do an X group together :3
