Cosplayer Cepia > Costume of Madoka Kaname from Madoka Magica
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- I was really happy and amused to find that I was able to make this almost entirely out of leftover fabric from OTHER magical girl costumes I've made! This was a rather ambitious project for me, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out, particularly the skirts, the gloves, and my soul gem (my first resin cast!).
Update Feb 2013: I made her bow for Katsucon! It was a joint project between me and my dad. I patterned it, he cut it out for me, and I assembled, painted, and made the resin gems for it :) Thanks dad!!! I made an arrow too, but I want to remake it since it was sorta rushed. I remade the criss-cross straps on my shoes too :)
- Personal Thoughts:
- The puffiness and cupcakey-ness of this costume makes me extremely happy. And the bows. And the ruffles. And all the pink. Well, all of it makes me happy! No suffering here, really!
(BIG Thanks to Tina for convincing me to watch Madoka and make this!)
- Styling Notes
- I trimmed the bangs and also pulled up the sides into mini pigtails so that the clip-ons would have a better base to grab on to. It also looks more like the pigtails are actually tied up this way :)
- Wig Review
- It's a reeeeeally pretty color and very soft!
