About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- This costume has been a lot of trial and errors. First I worked on the bodysuit. Since I have never really worked with strecth before this was a challenge. I ended up making 2 different mock ups to figure out the perfect way to set the seams and have no bumps or bunches. The thrid and final bodysuit it actually a dual layered bodysuit of a simple cotton stretch and a white stretch that I ordered from spandex house. The next step was all of the black sections on the suit. All of these are made out of dragon skin. BATMAN!!!!! Starlighthoney was the one who actually found and ordered the dragonskin from smooth-on for us to test and work with. For a little extra glam we actually added some irredescent glitter to the mix. ^^ For all of the pieces we started with cotton and actually drafted on my body the pieces and then firgured out where to put seams so we would have flat pieces to work with. We then followed Jia Jem’s tutorial that she used for her Leeloo suspenders. Great tutorial! So we cut all of the pieces out of the pink foam, but instead of placing it on another sheet of pink foam we placed it on plexiglass to give it a glossy finish. We did this, but it ended up being too thick for what we needed. So we ended up taking the dragonskin and actually dragging it across the plexiglass to make a sheet of dragonskin. From this we cut out all of the pieces and glued them together. The only thing that holds dragonskin together is more dragonskin! Yay! (They have adhesives, but we didn’t know about them >
- Personal Thoughts:
- I have always loved Ah My Goddess and Morgan is just such a beautiful and misunderstood character that of course I was drawn to. And who doesn’t want to be an evil fairy princess!!!!
