Cosplayer Moetron > Costume of Jane Porter from Tarzan
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- This costume took me about 6 months, and a shockingly large amount of money :).
Structure: For this costume I made a set of combinations, a bustle cage, and two petticoats. All the patterns for this costume come from Truly Victorian ^___^! I went ahead and bought a serviceable corset for this, but I do plan on eventually making one for her ^3^! All the layers here are a basic nice muslin, except for her 'hero petticoat' which is a pretty lightweight cotton with white flowers all over it.
Main Costume: I used a silk dupioni all ordered from Silk Baron for Jane
- Personal Thoughts:
- I love Jane, have always loved Jane, and ...will probably always love her! She's one of my favorite Disney girls of all time, and I've always been in love with her sunshine yellow dress! This was probably an idiotically huge undertaking for my first cosplay done all on my lonesome, but I think it was a fun learning process!
- Styling Notes
- I stubbed the wig, and used the ponytail to cover the odango. Its my first time doing heavy wig styling, and I'm still not too good at it @___@!
- Wig Review
- The wig was a bit big for my head, otherwise I loved how much fiber it had!
