Cosplayer Chiko > Costume of Leona Heidern from King of Fighters 1996
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- I'm so proud of this costume, I made the entire outfit from scratch. I found a delightful olive Twill fabric at Hancock and used a Simplicity pattern for the shorts. I drafted the vest myself and even made the military panel in the front functional (it unbuttons to reveal an invisible zipper underneath). Every button hole and seam is serged and pressed and all the pockets are functional.
The boots are a pair of Nikes I was lucky enough to find on ebay. Not only do they look just like Leona's shoes, but they are lined with fur and extremely comfortable. The earring were made from findings at Michael's and jewelry wire since it is impossible to find plain triangle earrings anywhere.
It's such a comfortable costume I'll be wearing this many times over.
- Personal Thoughts:
- The hotel's elevator situation was so terrible I climbed 19 flights on stairs in this costume and didn't even break a sweat. So happy with how comfortable and clean it is.
I love being able to use my own hair for the costume too! Blue hair hooray.
