Cosplayer Shii Arisugawa > Prop of Kaede Smith from Killer7
About this Prop
- Construction Details:
- I know jack shit about guns, so I asked zetsubou will to help me find a suitable base gun to use, and after much searching around (and much aggravation on my part lmao) online I found a Colt M911 cap gun. The gun scope was also purchased online and required the most amount of modification, it was longer than the gun so I had to cut a section out using a bearsaw and glued it back together using Tamiya Cement. I also had to cut a large connecting piece in the middle, as it was meant for screwing onto a rubber band gun. The small piece connecting the scope to the gun is just foam board, which is glued together using Amazing Goop, and it's also attached to the front sight using Tamiya Cement. The extended magazine is more foam board glued together, the edges filled in with light weight stone clay, sanded down, and glued to the bottom of the gun. The entire prop is actually very sturdy, I was surprised considering the materials I was using and the fact that they're mostly glued on! lol
NOTE: The props are painted in everyone's respective Handsome Men color scheme to be more con friendly, so I went with brown/cocoa brown for KAEDE! I know it's supposed to be light brown, but the cocoa brown paint I found was a closer match, heh.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Out of all the props I worked on for the group, this one is definitely my favorite build! The one thing that kinda irks me is the scope was perfectly center when I was gluing it on, and it shifted ever-so-slightly to the left somehow (barely noticeable but of course I notice it haha!!). ;___;
