About this Prop
- Construction Details:
- I started off by drawing out the base pattern onto regular paper, using the design seen in the game manual opposed to the in-game model. The hardest part was cutting out 6 pieces out of foam board, and 4 pieces out of 6mm thick craft foam using an X-acto knife, which destroyed my hands. >___< The layers were glued together, edges filled in using lightweight stone clay, and sanded once dried to get it as smooth as possible. I couldn't find any cardboard tubes that were the right size I needed for the barrels as they were either way too big or too small, so I ended up cutting two tubes (previously used for Christmas gift wrapping lol) and glueing them together. The finished barrels measure 2 1/2" in diameter, and 11" in length, while the the grenade launchers measure 15" in total length.
NOTE: The props are painted in everyone's respective Handsome Men color scheme to be more con friendly, so I went with purple/white for MASK! - Personal Thoughts:
- I had a really hard time thinking how I wanted to tackle this particular project, while trying to use whatever materials I had on hand to help keep the costs down. It's not 100% to my liking but I think I did a pretty decent job considering this was my first time making props like this. XD I'm looking forward to making more props once I have better tools, materials, and a proper work space!
