About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- I took a lot of liberties with this costume, mainly because the design was SO flat and cartoony. I patterned the vest/top myself and made it out of a textured hot pink twill. Underneath is a spaghetti strap pink dress, with a GIANT hoopskirt. I made the dress by altering a bridal pattern. I chose a light pink casa satin for the dress, to contrast with the textured hot pink vest. The hoopskirt was purchased on ebay. Instead of making gloves, I just made covers for a pink pair that I had already. The front panel was made by cutting out the shapes and fusing them to the fabric with heat and bond. The whole panel is interfaced so it would be sturdy. The jewelry elements of this costume (tiara, crown) were made by casting elements out of hot glue and painting them with gold acrylic paint.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I love this version of Zelda and am really glad I made this costume! Of course, hindsight is 20/20 and I would do things a lot differently now!

- Styling Notes
- This wig was really hard! It was my first ponytail wig, and I quickly learned that what looks right on the wig head does not necessarily look right on your head. Basically, I kept making it too tight/small. I had to use over 9,000 wig pins to keep this thing on, and it ended up being pretty uncomfortable. Plus, you can hardly even see the ponytail in photos. BAH!
