Construction Details:

Never actually played any games in the Parasite Eve series, but I saw the design for Aya Brea and decided to go for it to coincide with the NA release.

Top: Made out of black vinyl. This was the second time I've ever worked with vinyl, the first time being my boot covers for Nina. It's just a simple vest, and I added eyelets to lace up the front.

Explanation for undershirt: I know Aya doesn't wear an undershirt (or at least not a visible one), but given the circumstances, I had no choice. I made this originally for Anime Expo 2011. In the 4 months since I made the outfit and last wore it, I found out that I "grew" a bit. The result was that the front would not close properly when I laced it up. So I improvised and added a black tube top underneath. If I ever wear this again, I'll probably add a zipper on the side to make things easier.

Jeans: A lot of people asked me where I got the jeans. These jeans were an old plain pair that I already had, WITHOUT rips. What I did to create the ripped effect with white threads without leaving a wide open hole was I cut two slits on each leg, and then using a tweezer, I pulled out the vertical blue threads in the denim. I repeated the process until I was satisfied with how many rips I had.

Belt: Old belt from my closet.

Boot covers: Also made with black vinyl, plus belt buckles and trim I found at a local store.

Necklace: A friend of mine provided me with some scrap metal from an old VCR, so I cut it up and used super glue to make the dog tag.

Airsoft and silver ring: Obviously store bought.

Bracelet: I twined some 4-5 lengths of aluminum wire, then used silver spray paint.
