Cosplayer Stabatha > Costume of Sebastian Michaelis from Black Butler
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- This costume took a very long time to get right. I actually managed to find a suit with coattails at Goodwill (amazing, right?!) and then the work began. I sewed in the ribbing onto the white shirt, because I couldn't find one that already had it that fit me. The coattails were originally rectangular, so they actually had to be reshaped to be pointed. I replaced all of the buttons with special new silver ones with a coat of arms on them (and let me tell you, it was a pain to get them all facing up the right way!), and put in snaps to make the front overlap the right way. The sleeves and pants had to be hemmed, as obviously the suit was originally made for a man. My friend Emily (my Ciel) assisted in a lot of the sewing when my sewing machine broke, and credit goes to my friend Starr for tying the tie for me; I'm hopeless at that. XD
- Styling Notes
- This wig was amazing, already almost perfectly styled for the costume. I just had to trim in the signature lock across his face and gel it and a few other pieces in place, and it was perfect!
