About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- 2011 - because I've ALWAYS WANTED TO. This outfit (the "good daughter" hanbok, which she wears at home) is the one I actually fell in love with first, even before her Blind Bandit outfit. I swore I'd make this! This is one of those projects where you like it so much that you start adding things to it. I added a ddengi (traditional Korean hair ornament) with her family crest on it, although you can't see it, and I added some extra Earth Kingdom crests to her drape. I also took a MAJOR creative liberty and replaced the chrysanthemum on her bodice front with a Rose of Sharon, which is the Korean national flower. I am not normally one to be so....patriotic, but Earth Kingdom's Tang overtones look very Korean. Most unfortunately, I have very few pictures. I'll wear it again, NOT to SDCC, and make sure that I am not sweaty and gross. However, I ended up wearing it to an Avatar:TLA signing (I didn't plan on it), hilarious. But through this endeavor, I got to wear it with AJ, Uncle Kate, and AJ's husband! AWESOME.
