About this Costume
Construction Details:
I LOVE DIGIMON SO MUCH. Though, as much as I love Mimi's cowgirl outfit, I didn't have the time to make that and the pink hat... Luckily, Dust Bunny had this beyond adorable fanart of all of the Chosen Children/Digidestined dressed in hoodies of their respective Digimon partners. Mimi's was TOO cute (although I will admit I was very tempted to do Hikari's), and since Palmon is my favorite child Digimon, I had to make it!

The hoodie is made from anti-pill fleece, heavily altered from a plain-o hoodie pattern to make the hands huge and fluffy. The veins in the arms were made by sewing another layer of fleece on the inside of the sleeve in the shape of the vein, then sticking stuffing in between the layers. The claws are stuffed and just sewn in between the layers, and the hands are stuffed.

The leggings were purchased as well as the sandals, all I did was add the ribbon bows and the red berry looking things.

The wig came from eBay and it's really too long... But I left it long because I didn't know if I wanted to put it up into a ponytail or leave it down... I think next time I will pull it up. :)

As for that flower... Oh my goodness it took a whole day just to make that flower! The flower started as pink petals with the yellow designs appliqued and satin stitched on. The, I sewed another layer of pink and turned the whole thing, then sewed down the centers of the petals so I could slip wire into each of the petals, leaving extra at the end. Once all of petals were done, I wove all of the wire together into a circle shape, which I attached to a piece of elastic. The squiggles on the inside of the flower are simply little tubes I sewed and stuffed, and the one large squiggle has wire to make it stand up.

I'm so happy we made these, they're so cute and so much fun to wear, and I was really surprised people recognized what we were dressed as!
