Construction Details:

Dress was constructed of pink cotton using Butterick pattern 4827, slightly modified. I appliqued the white bird design onto the blue side skirt; both are cottons. Gold belt was made of jar lids (the kind used for canning fruits and veggies) that I hammered and then painted. They were then glued to pin backs and pinned onto sturdy ribbon. Ears are from aradani studios and I painted them myself.

Styling Notes

The front pieces wrapped in ribbon had a piece of foamie inserted inside and glued there to stabilize and give shape. The end of the ponytail in the back had wadded tissue paper as the core.
