Construction Details:

Over the course of almost an entire year, I made almost two different copies of this outfit. I had made the jacket, but couldn't get matching fabric for the hat/shorts, so I remade the entire thing (the new coat is so much better, it's lined and hardly has any hot glue on it~). The new coat (both the outside and lining) is a standard cotton made with an extremely altered pattern. The trim is black velvet, and I bought the buttons, but painted them with nail polish. The bustle was a struggle. It didn't take a long time to construct, but the craft foam I used was easily damaged, so it didn't lay correctly. I'm planning on replacing the foam with a plastic or woven material before I shoot again. The shirt was from my mother, and I altered it with the ruffles/bow. You can't see most of the details on the hat, which, besides the skull and obnoxious bow, is my favorite part of this cosplay. It's covered with the blue cotton from the coat/shorts, wrapped with a tea-dyed polyester ribbon, false lillies, fake animal tails, and various feathers. I bought the skull at Michael's Crafts for super cheap (did someone say holiday clearance?), and added false flowers and a veil (also tea-dyed).

Styling Notes

Cut with shears and thinning scissors, set with flat iron and hairspray.
