Construction Details:

For the most part I used a kimono pattern and made quite a few alterations for the style. The sleeves were altered from the pattern and were somewhat of a hassle since the whole outer kimono is fully lined. No surging was done, the whole costume was sewn with a normal lockstitch which was reinforced as needed. Material used on the most recent version is 100% cotton outer kimono and a lose knit Poly inner 'Juban'. Accessories include ribbons, red Carnelian earrings and a red paper fan. I will use a hair extension if needed, but tend to style my own hair for this costume.
