Personal Thoughts:

I made this costume for Silvver and NegativeDreamer's Pikmin group. The group communicated through Facebook to share ideas. Silvver then came up with the patterns for the mascot suits and we each made our own suits by following her instructions. It was a fun project to work on. The suit's belly and head has inner padding made of foam encased in lightweight fabric that is shaped by hoops made from tubing. There is also foam padding in the toes, the arms and the stem of the suit. The outer fabric is fleece for the skin and felt for the pupils and leaf. I made up my own pattern for the leaves. They have decorative stitching and are stuffed with batting and wire for support. The eyes are white buckram and plastic. My eyes turned out a little wonky since I made them last minute, so my Pikmin has a goofy face. XD
