About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- The vest and sleeves are all one piece, and the brown part is cotton sateen, while the white parts are broadcloth. The vest buttons up in the front, and has a belt that is tightened in the back. The collar (with bow) are detachable, and all of the brown bias tape was glued down and then top-stitched.
The skirt is a bottomweight material, and I didn't use a pattern for it, since I wanted more pleats (and also, narrower pleats) than the one pleated skirt pattern that I do have. So, I followed a tutorial that I found on DeviantArt, and I really like the results. :3 I dyed the eyelet trim on the skirt gray (using Rit dye), and the thigh-highs were ordered from Sock Dreams.
I just winged it for the hat, and cut out a circle for the top, and a long strip which I gathered, then the brown part with the bow. The bow has wire in it, so it can be shaped. - Personal Thoughts:
- SHUFFLIN'. EV'RY DAY WE ARE.
