Construction Details:

I love Sheryl Nome from Macross Frontier, and as soon as I saw this beautiful outfit in the show I wanted to cosplay it. After 3 years, the dream came true. I bought 7 yards of blue/black taffeta from New York's Fashion district, bought pink roses and small flowers for the wristlets, went through 2 wigs for the right one, and waited for snow to fall. I had to buy about 500+ Crystal AB Rhinestones and glue them on one by one, by hand. The crown flowers are spraypainted lighter with white spraypaint and silver glitter spray, and are strung on a wire headband. The wrist flowers were handsewn to hairties for elasticity, and sprayed whiter and with glitter too. Gloves from eBay. Wig is from Ayanamisatoru on Taobao and hand colored with sharpies and copic markers to have more blue shades. Contacts are the Dollyeye blue. I have to say...this costume is SUPER high maintenance. I couldn't move without wig hairs getting caught in my wrist flowers, and without brushing it from the crystals on the dress. Long wig is long. Long dress thing is long...annoying gloves that didn't keep my hands warm were cold. This photoshoot was done around Syracuse University in NY and in Thornden Park by Jenn Quach. I prepared for this shoot by wearing a lot of layers underneath the dress like tanktops and tights, ski pants, layers of socks, and thick boots because we shot photos in very cold weather. We had to wait for a good day with clouds to shoot photos, but all the hard work and time put into this was totally worth it. We got beautiful photos, and this is a great snow shoot.
