Construction Details:

To help me out before I was familiar with a sewing machine, my forever con mom Rita Smith made the jacket portion for me out of all the fabric I bought. It was completely lined with interfacing in the collar and cuffs with working snaps and buttons. I made the pendant from Fimo clay and gold jewelry accents and styled the wig to have her signature antennae on top. The skirt was from Hot Topic (yeop) and has since been borrowed by a whole slew of friends for other costumes. I made my bow from slinky, stretchy scrap fabric from my Scarlet dress, which was a really dumb idea. But this was 2003. We all had dumb ideas in 2003.

Personal Thoughts:

Otakon 2003. The con that hooked me into cosplay forever. My friends and I had a great, sizeable cast and Joe blew everyone away as Folken. I never forgot the happy faces on the people who ran up to us and complimented our costumes and our skit. This costume had so many memories attached to it for so long, it's a shame I can't wear it again! :(
