Cosplayer VintageAerith > Costume of Rosette Christopher from Chrono Crusade
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- The entire outfit is constructed by hand, including the shirt. I used a very heavily altered pattern for the top, improvising on the yoke that the original illustration has, and top-stitching in all accents. The sleeves had to be partially hand-drafted, too, to achieve the leg-of-mutton look. I used a corset and skirt pattern as the basis for some heavy alterations in making her lace-up skirt. The corset is finished in gold eyelets and extra-wide bias tape, and zips up the back. The neckbow is made of silk lining, and pantyhose and boots were purchased. The pocketwatch is the same I've been using for all my Rosette cosplays thus far. Wig, as always, is thanks to SakuraWigs.
- Personal Thoughts:
- This outfit has always been my favorite of Rosette's, which is odd, since she only wears it for one volume of the manga (and one episode of the anime). I always thought it was really gorgeous on her and evoked more of a historical feel than her nun's habit.
I was so, so, SO happy to finally get to do this shoot. Whereas Fai might've been my dream cosplay, this on-location photo session was something I've been dreaming about for three years, ever since I drove past this old 1920's schoolhouse and was immediately reminded of Seventh Bell. Thanks so much to Alice, my roomie and Chrono, and Steph aka Skwinkography for realizing this dream of mine!
