About this Costume
Construction Details:
This has to be my favorite costume ever so far. I love this thing. It took a long time, but I did it. The wig was made by my awesome friend, Sypris, right in my room. Thank you so much. ♥♥♥ We decided to go with a blonde tone to make it more realistic and also because I felt it would look better on me than stark yellow. Sypris parted the wig (her first time doing this) and then stubbed the ponytails. She then made the odangos by covering them in extensions and attached them to the stubs while attaching the ponytail extensions. The accessories were later added on by me. Because the ponytails were so long, I had to eventually replace them with a quick fix for an event. The shade was a little off, but it worked for the time being. On top of all this, the wig is somewhat heavy and needs lots of pins to secure it. x_x With the help of my friends, I made the hearts(resin cast) with the wings(foamie) the hair barrettes, and whatever prop/accessories that can't be sewn. .__. The only thing I did not make were the gloves. Ironically, that was the only thing to really mess up: right when I put the gloves on, one of the seams busted. >___< The leotard was made by altering a dance figure pattern. The sailor collar and front bow with brooch are all detachable. The skirt, back bow, hip rolls, and lower brooch are all permanently attached, along with the shoulder 'wings.' I've seen worn the crap out of this costume for the past two~three years because I was so busy with school that I didn't have time to make anything new. x_x This costume is now retired though. I've had a lot of fun in this costume and I have met so many great people through it! Now to move on and make something even more awesome and fun to wear. :DD
