About this Costume
Construction Details:
Wig-I bought a white wig on e-bay as the base. Using the FW ink dye method, I dyed the wig a pale blue. I then dyed the lower edges of the wig purple using the same method. Mask-I cut the mask out of craft foam, approximateing the patten from the refence pic. I place a band of rigidlene on the brow band for strength and then attached an elastic band. The feathered wings were hot glued together and trimmed to match reference picture and then attached to mask. Dress-I used black lycra material and a swim suit pattern for the body suit part of the dress. The ruffles and tail where made using low sheen black satin. For the belts, I used black matte vinyl. The decorated belt buckles were made using friendly plastic and the ankh's were made using model magic. Stocking/Shoes-I used clear platform heels for the base shoe. I ordered the correct color of thigh high stockings and ankle high socks. I removed the lace top's from a pair of cheap lace topped thigh highs and serged them onto the before mentioned stockings. Then using clear thread I created the illusion of toes in the stockings. I placed the stockings over the shoes and cut holes in the heal sections. I sealed the stockings onto the heals using super glue. For the claws, I sculpted them in using sculpey first. I then took a mold of the claw and cast them in resin, so they would be lighter than the clay. I affixed the claws into the "toe" portions of the stockings by cutting holes into the stockings and sealing them with super glue. I then stuffed the toes with poly fil. The straps on the legs were made using black matte vinyl. Jewelery-Was made by Hikaruhime Sleaves/Claws-Sleaves were made using low sheen black satin and pink satin for the lining. Black matte vinyl was used to make the straps. The claws were made using skeleton gloves as the base. Hikaruhime painted them according to the reference pictures and added the claws and spikes, made of model magic.
